How I Styled Spring Pastels & Summer Brights for Grad

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

Firstly, I would like to declare that I DID IT and I MADE IT! After four long years of study, I recently graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce degree in Fashion Management with Honours (yay!). The journey has been both challenging and rewarding, but I am proud to say that I made it to the finish line despite multiple lockdowns and the most challenging job of all: motherhood.

A Newfound Love for Spring Pastels

Although bright colours are usually my favourite, I have recently fallen in love with spring pastels...especially lilac! With this newfound love, it was only right to incorporate this colour into my next styled fit for graduation.

As someone who loves style, it was important to me to put together an outfit that was stylish and polished as well as one that expressed my true love for colours. Additionally, I wanted to move away from wearing a dress and have a little fun with my outfit, after all, I am a Fashion graduate!

Styling My Grad Fit

I styled my outfit around these printed satin pants, as they were my statement piece. These pants also feature a front slit that I absolutely love for allowing your shoes to be seen! Then, I paired my pants with this lime green draped bodysuit (I have a thing for bodysuits, and if I'm not wearing one, it's a crop top). If I am wearing a print, I always work one of the shades from the print into my solid pieces for a balanced look, hence why the lime green bodysuit worked well.

The third piece I styled to this fit was these bright pink heels that I adore. They're so comfortable and can honestly stand on their own as a colour statement. What if I told you that the light pink blazer was styled by accident? I originally wanted a bright pink blazer to match my shoes but came across this lighter pink blazer that ended up complimenting the pants and bringing the look together very well.

To complete my look, I added faux pearl drop heart earrings and my lime green tote, which truly gave my outfit an extra pop.
